Packaging: FRUU lip balm tubes are made from recyclable polypropylene and are widely recycled (same material as butter tubs). This isn't necessarily seen as the most sustainable option but Team FRUU isn't currently satisfied with alternatives such as cardboard. Cardboard has a very low moisture barrier unless it is lined with plastic, so oils can seep out of the balm and into the packaging. Not only is this messy and inconvenient, once saturated with oils, it's very difficult for cardboard to be recycled. FRUU continue to refine thier lip balm packaging and this is a work in progress.
